By increasing the number of phases, the step angle gets smaller and the vibrations decrease. The 3-phase stepping motor offers a middle course between the 2-phase stepping motor (standard) and the 5-phase stepping motor with its very small step angle and very low vibrations. 3 phase Stepper Motors are widely used on Analytical and Medical Instruments, High Speed Dome Camera, Textile Equipment, Precision Telescope Positioning Systems, Embroidery Machine and Robotics.
